Javascrit fun
I am having a bit of fun using the pi to play around with JaveScript a bit. Responding to some DS106 challanges by making web pages rather than the usual thing.

AFP woes
Today I noticed that I can't copy folders full of files from my mac to the USB SSD attached to my PI. I was trying to clear some space on my dropbox to get rid of the increasingly frequent, you are running our of space, emails. The only wany I managed to do it is with rsync, which is somewhat more hassle for me than drag & drop.
Turns out the fix was to create a new user on the pi with the same credentials as my mac accout. Mount the drive as that user. Needed to add the user to the /etc/netatalk/afp.conf file.
Flickr and nano
I was thinking about the bother of getting images onto this blog using an iPad again. thought I night try Flickr. To my suprise I needed to use the web version. the share button in the app, is a share button.
I now find I can't paste in nano in Termius, or I do not know how to!
I seem to have managed using code editor.
Power Supply
I noticed a few days ago the pi was down. rebooted it a few times and although the green was blinking it didn't seem to be going, now webpages and no shh access. Today I had a bit of time so I got a fresh sd card and set up a new system. Lights flashed but still no go. I swapped Ethernet cables and router ports, nada. I tried a different pi, still no go. i then set the new one up with a different power supply, and this worked. Replace the one on this pi and all seems well. Tags: raspberry-pi
Pi AFP Server
Just set up the pi as an AFP server using How to Setup a Raspberry Pi AFP Server - Pi My Life Up pretty straightforward. I didn't manage to mount my home folder but can get to /var/www/html which might be useful. Quite please with myself. I wonder if I could have a pi with a big SSD on it. Seems you can set the pi up as a Time Machine.
Permissions
A quick test, I started to get error if I use ./bb.sh filename
to create a new post. Got warning the file did not exist and if I used sudo a message about the EDITOR variable not being set.
Leaving off the file name gets me into nano and writing this...
Now this seem to work I wonder if I imagined that you could set a file name.
